Hi Carol - Day three with Mia is going fantastic! We have taken many photos - as soon as I can get the file size down - I'll send some your way! Her behavior is getting better each day, as she is really warming up to us. She will not let me out of her sight and she LOVES Rascal. She is letting Chris pet her and she even gave him a kiss on the face this morning! She just needs stability, and to learn to trust again!
How is the microchip paperwork going? Please call us with info.
I let a dogless family know about your Eskies and your service on our walk yesterday. Mia let another small child pet her! She is doing very well with socialization and city life!
Smiles :-)
Kathie

Hi Carol - thank you so much for the sweet photos! Thank you, also, for calling ! Mia is on my lap right now while I am typing! She does not want to let me out of her sight! My daughter came over, and she took to her, also. Jeni sat down on the floor and let Mia come to her - it worked out very well!
I tried calling the vets office again, they picked up the phone this time and Mia has an appt. this Thurs!
Our first 24 hours together have gone VERY WELL! Mia  is fitting in to our household very well. She is such a sweet girl!
I've determined that the whimpering thing is a bad habit. When she does this, I do the gentle muzzle down - like a momma dog would do, and she stops right away and goes into good behaviors. I feel this is going to be an easy habit to break. She so wants to please me, and follows my every instruction.. She even played a little game of "catch" with toy you sent. She would not bring it to me - I'll have to teach her how to do this - but, she enjoyed chasing it!
We'll keep you posted to her progress. She is a little sweetie - be certain to thank the person who transported her to you, for us!
Smiles and happy new year!
Chris and Kathie

Hi!
Yes, she is missed already...I hope everyone is doing great and the ride wasn't too long.  ;)  I am sending those pictures...thank you for finally giving Mia the forever home that she deserves...she was soooo looking for someone to trust and love.  I am glad that she has you both.  Let me know how things go and watch out for the fire crackers tonight night...not sure how Mia will react...if it will panic her or it will be like being at home.

;)  Talk soon and again...thanks.  I will be calling soon to see how she is working out.  ;)  Send pictures and I will post them on her page...Will get her set up today with these to start off.  ;) She really is such a sweetie..  is Rascal still loving having her around?

Sincerely,
Carol Raymond

Hi Carol - Oh, Mi-o,, My-o - Mia is a CUTIE !!!!! Ok, so Chris and I both had a great reaction to her! We'll have to see how she likes us! Hang onto her for us - pretty please! She is a great age - we are looking for a younger baby. We got Rascal when he was about a year old, and it has worked out very well!
Thank you so much for sending the photos down the wire of her, and Gracie. Gracie is also a cutie.
We are coming with an open heart, and open minds! We will see how the babies respond to us.
P/s let us know if Dec. 30th, or Dec. 31st works out best for you. If you choose the 31st - we would like for it to be earlier in the day. We do not want to be out on the roads after people start drinking for News Years Eve!
Thank you so much for working with us, and thank you for sending the sweet photos down the wire!
Merry Christmas!
Kathie

I'm meeting Janet Dean to hand off the boston terrier momma and pups at 8:00 tomorrow morning at 635 & Oates.  If someone could get the eskies to the 635 & Coit area, I could bring them back with me and meet the Benbrook folks at 35W and I-20.

Off email after 6 pm.  please call me on my cell if you need me after that.

We have a transport coming toward San Antonio, but
they are in Benbrook & don't know their way around
very well. They are planning to leave between 10 and
11 tomorrow.

Actually, anything closer to them (ie Ft Worth) would
be just great.

If you're heading that way & can pick up a few
hitchikers (3 Eskies), please let me know.
Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend and a SUPER Merry
Christmas!!

Subject: RE: [dfwcares] TRANSPORT DESPERATELY NEEDED: May be a double post (Sorry!!)

Good Morning All!

First, I spoke with Diane (?) last night and they WILL
be leaving there Saturday around noon. She is SW of Ft
Worth in Benbrook. She said she normally doesn't go
into Dallas/ Plano, but may if need be. I am going to
post to try & get a meetup for her if possible & check
with our adopter in Plano to see if she can help.
Diane is going to call me tonight with more details as
they are just now planning their trip details.

These are the questions:

Debbie- When does Mia need to be pulled?
Do you know how to reach Kristin?

Kristin- I guess I'll need contact info for you so
that Mia can be picked up Sat. What's convenient for
you as far as your schedule goes?

These are the answers I have at the moment:

Debbie- Sending you Carol's 501 on a separate mail. If
you need a hard copy, I can get that faxed before the
end of the day. Steve's out of town on a truck wreck,
so I have to wait till he gets back.

Hey Carol,
It is Mia. :-) Don't think that one will be easy
to forget. (Debbie & Kristin, Mia is my adoptee &
rescue "partner" who I adopted from Carol. EXTREMELY
SPECIAL little girl!)

Y'All have a FABULOUS day!! Thank you again, so much,
for your help in getting this little girl safe!!

Just contact me on my cell when this girl needs to be pulled. Kristen R

Hi Debbie...

Due to time of year at my work, Kari will be getting my 501 paperwork to you...also just to be on the safe side...I just wanted to send you an email
letting you know that I normally ok each "rescue" separately and individually due to the fact that I have to "work on rescuing" from so far away, provisions and transports are updated with each dog pulled, I hope this is ok.  I can be reached at 210-410-7334 if any questions are needing to be answered.  Since I am a teacher, I can't always answer right away...but leave a message and I will
call ASAP.  ;)

For this Rescue, Kari will be handling the emails to you and Kristen will be pulling for New Leash on Life! Soon the gal will be transported to San Antonio along with 2 boys pulled a couple of weeks ago.  Was wondering about any history that you could give me as far as vetting/health work ups. Also..does this gal have a name?  ;)  I appreciate everyone coming together for her...

A big THANKYOU for everyone involved in helping get this little one to safety!
Sincerely,
Carol Raymond

Hi Kristin,
I'm cc-ing Debbie on this so I can do one mail.  Hope that's ok.

Just hung up w/ Carol. Someone named Diane (not sure
which one, not Watson don't think) is coming down on
the 22nd. Carol is fwding her mail to me so I can get
the details & hopefully get it finalled up. That doesn't seem too bad cause tomorrow is the 20th.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, Kristin!! You have been a real lifesaver for me/ NLOL more than once.  I will keep you both posted as it unfolds.

Debbie, thank YOU for looking out for this girl!  I'm thinking Y'All have what you need for NLOL- that we recently pulled one of these boys that's coming down
with Mia from Plano. (no, wait. that was Collin County- do you need paperwork?  I can send you Carol's 501 whatever it is- not (c)(3)- some other NP designation) Needless to say, Kristin is authorized to pull on NLOL's behalf but if you need
something in writing, let me know & I'll get Carol to send if it needs to be from her.

If either of Y'All need me for anything, my phone  #s are in my post to DFW cares. I guess I'll be getting back to Y'All by tomorrow or sooner.

(Oh yeah. Yes, please tag Miss Mia for New Leash On Life Eskie Rescue. Carol Raymond 210-410-7334 & me for back up if you can't reach Carol)

Hope Y'All's holidays are shaping up nicely!
Thank you again!
Kari

Ask Debbie New to let me know when she absolutely has to get out and I'll go get her.  I'm pretty full for the holidays but can hold her for a few days as needed rather than letting something happen to her. She was an owner surrender and is probably terrified at the shelter even though it's one of the nicest shelters in the area. --Kristen
*******************************************************************************************
Hey Kristin!

Hope Y'All are doing good! Thank you! Does this mean you could get her out for now? I don't want to impose on your hospitality for long.I know Carol is crazy to get the guys down here, but haven't got it firmed up (needless to say) so I'm a little afraid to say YESSS PLEASE!! without knowing when for sure.

Carol is worried about Mia (the little Plano girl) She sounds fine, but very scared & we're afraid she may fear bite & be history. School is still in session here, so waiting to hear back from Carol.
Thank you again! ---Kari

If you need anyone to hold the girl from Plano for a bit let me know. I work down the street from the shelter and live in Plano.

Carol may have already posted. She mentioned
that she might, but not clear & no time to dig for it.
Please forgive if so We are both so busy, we talk for about 5-10
minutes a day (if that) before her cell phone goes. (a lot
going on here. New animal ordinance that is NOT GOOD,
not happy with ACS right now, & stuff with the dogs)

There are 2 Eskie boys at a vet (not sure who)
in Plano, Debbie New's Eskie also in Plano and
another Eskie girl in Waco (I think there's someone who
can pull her & meet up on the way) who need
desperately to get all the way or even part way (Waco, maybe?)
to San Antonio. The usual suspects are otherwise
engaged (though I think maybe Dagi is working on it,
too, from what Carol said) The boarding bills are not helping.

At minimum, I can meet anywhere from San Marcos
south & get them the rest of the way to Somerset. If I
can find a "navigator" to go both ways here in SA, I can
come all the way up there & get them. (If that happens, I might be able to squeeze a couple of VERY small dogs- Chis, Yorkies or Westies, whatever,
on the ride back to SA.) I would rent a van if I could,
but have to use my car. Steve needs to stay here with our crazies.

Anybody coming down here for Christmas? PLEEEZE?
I'm swamped here, so only checking my personal email.

Thanks! Hope All are well!

Mia is a 2 year old spayed female who was given up by her owner for the holidays. Said she was his daughters dog and the daughter went to college. She is housetrained, knows commands, shy with men but good with kids. Terrified here and tried to bite.   RESCUE ONLY and no charge.  She needs out by Dec. 29th.  Please crosspost.
