Joy was brought in as a stray to the Fort Worth Animal Shelter. This is where an animal control officer,
Ginger took such great care of her. While she was on her stray hold, Ginger cleaned her wounds, carefully clipping
the fur around the burns and gave her antibiotics to prevent infection.
Ginger notified us that there was an American Eskimo dog at the shelter that had burns all down her back
and sent us pictures. She asked us if we would be able to take this girl into our rescue as she was just so "loving"
of an Eskie.
Of course, we had to see about making arrangements for her...and that is where we met Pam, who pulled
& took her to her vets office in Argyle. They took her in and the vet swore to me that he had never
met a more pleasant Eskie! Even with her discomfort, she endured everything with the famous Eskie smile!
They cleaned it even more clipping & removing bits of skin & fur from the wound to help it heal better...but Joy,
never complained. ;)
We are in the process of getting her transported to Houston next and then to us for recovery. We will
update you on her progress as we go.
Update: Joy has made a full recovery and now has a wonderful forever home! She is enjoying life to the fullest! We want
to thank all those involved with bringing her to safety, helping with her pain & suffering and now her new mommy for being
the greatest mommy there is. ;)
You are all the greatest! Joy, you are such a wonderful little gal to have evoked such a number of people together!
Congratulations for having sooo many caring people on your plight to the pretty, healthy young lady you have become...and
of course, your new forever home! ;)
